Tuesday, Nov. 15 -- State Championships, final round at Kings CC, Hanford, 8 a.m.

 Bullemer takes third in State
She shoots 78 to earn All-State honors

 SBCC sophomore Nicole Bullemer fired a 78 on Tuesday to capture third place in the Community College State Women’s Golf Championships at Kings Country Club in Hanford.
 She started on the back nine and shot even-par 36 on the front side with birdies at Nos. 3 and 8. Her score was the second-best of the day and left her at 14-over 158. She earned all-state honors after tying for third with Taylor Crandall of Palomar.
 Kris Grimes (76-79) of Canyons was the medalist at 155.
 “Nicole played great, it was a fantastic way to end her two-year career,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “She hit a good 3-wood over the green at No. 8 and then rolled in a downhill flop shot for birdie.
 
“She’s exactly what you’re looking for in a student-athlete. We’re going to miss her next year.”

 Palomar shot 317 and edged Glendale for the team title by a stroke, 646-647.

Bullemer opens with 80 at State Finals
 
She’s in sixth after 2-over 38 on back nine

  SBCC’s Nicole Bullemer recorded an 80 on Monday and is tied for sixth after one round of the Community College State Championships at Kings Country Club in Hanford.
 
The sophomore from Dos Pueblos High birdied the 10th hole on the way to a 2-over 38 on the back nine. She’s just four shots behind the leader, Kris Grimes of Canyons.
 “This is one of the longer courses we play,” said Vaquero coach Chuck Melendez. “I was proud of Nicole’s effort today. She put herself in good position for the final round.”
 Six strokes separate the top three teams. Glendale, the WSC champion, is at 325, followed by Palomar (329) and Sacramento City (331).
 Bullemer, who tied for 10th in last year’s State tourney, will tee off at 8:20 a.m. for Tuesday’s final round.

 Bullemer earns spot in State Finals
She shoots 79 to take ninth at So Cal Regional

 SBCC’s Nicole Bullemer shot 79 on Tuesday to tie for ninth in the Southern Cal Regional and land a spot in next week’s State Championships.
 
Bullemer, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, had a two-day total of 156 at Twin Oaks GC in San Marcos. Kristin Discipulo turned in a 78 and Emily Wisma shot 79 but missed the top 12 by two and three strokes, respectively. Discipulo had a 36-hole score of 160 and Wisma finished at 161
 Glendale, the WSC champion, posted an impressive 297 and won the team title by three strokes over Palomar. Both teams advanced to the State Finals on Nov. 14-15 at Kings CC in Hanford.

 Bullemer shoots 77 at Regional
She’s in eighth; Wisma, Discipulo tied at 82

  Nicole Bullemer opened with a 5-over-par 77 on Monday to grab eighth place after one round of the Southern Cal Regional at Twin Oaks GC in San Marcos.
 
The sophomore from SBCC was 1-over after 10 holes. Teammates Emily Wisma and Kristin Discipulo are tied for 18th at 82. The low 12 individuals will advance to the State Championships on Nov. 14-15 at Kings CC in Hanford.
 “Nicole was solid today,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “There are nine players (including Wisma and Discipulo) within three shots of the top 12, so all three of our players have a good chance.”
 Pattraporn Silawanna of Glendale was the medalist at 70. Palomar has a 3-stroke lead (306-309) over Glendale in the team competition.
 The final round will be played on Tuesday morning.

    Bullemer takes seventh in WSC
She gets Regional berth, along with Discipulo, Wisma

 Kristin Discipulo shot 79 and Nicole Bullemer had an 80 on Monday but SBCC fell short in its bid for a Southern Cal Regional berth at the WSC Women’s Golf Championships.
 
Bullemer (81-80--161), a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, took seventh in the 36-hole tourney at par-72 Olivas Park in Ventura. Discipulo and Emily Wisma tied for 10th at 162. The Vaquero trio earned all-conference honors and individual spots in the Regional on Nov. 7-8 at Twin Oaks GC in San Marcos.
 SBCC needed to finish in the top two to gain a Regional berth. The Vaqueros shot 330 on Monday and placed third, 15 shots behind the runner-up, Canyons. Glendale shot 635 and won the tourney by two shots.
 Glendale took the WSC season title with a 32-4 record. Santa Barbara was fourth at 14-22.
 “We gave a great effort but it just didn’t happen for us today,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez.

Vaqueros in third after 1st round

Wisma fires 78 at WSC Championships

 Emily Wisma shot 78 on Sunday and Haley True posted an 80 to lead SBCC to third place after the opening round of the WSC Women’s Golf Championships at par-72 Olivas Park in Ventura.

 
Glendale captured WSC No. 8 with 316 strokes, followed by Canyons (318) and SBCC (322). The top two teams from the 36-hole tourney will advance to the Southern Cal Regional on Nov. 7-8.
 Glendale (29-3) clinched a tie for the WSC season title. Santa Barbara is tied for third with a 13-19 record. SBCC had four players between 78 and 83 with Nicole Bullemer shooting 81 and Kristin Discipulo 83.
  “I’m very, very pleased with our effort,“ said coach Chuck Melendez. “We came in very focused. We’re only four strokes away from a playoff spot and we can get there with a strong finish.
 The final round (and WSC No. 9) will be played Monday at Olivas Park, starting at 10:30 a.m.

Bullemer is runner-up at WSC No. 7
 She fires season-low 74 in Comet Classic

 SBCC’s Nicole Bullemer shot a 2-over 74 on Monday to take second place in WSC No. 7 at Twin Oaks GC in San Marcos.
 
The Vaqueros placed fourth with 344 strokes. Glendale edged Canyons for first, 305-308. Glendale also won the nine-team Comet Classic in northern San Diego County, hosted by Palomar College.
Bullemer, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, was fourth in a field of more than 50 players in the Comet Classic.
 The event, which featured conference meets for the WSC and Pacific Coast Conference, was a preview of the Southern Cal Regional, which will be held at Twin Oaks on Nov. 7-8.
 “We struggled today, except for Nicole,“ said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “The cream of the crop was at this tournament. We got a good scouting report for the Regional.”

Discipulo fires season-best 77
 Vaqueros take third at WSC No. 6

 Kristin Discipulo recorded a season-low 77 on Monday as SBCC took third in the sixth WSC women’s golf tourney at par-71 Brookside GC in Pasadena.
 
Emily Wisma shot 82 and Nicole Bullemer 83 on a day when all six Vaqueros were between 77 and 88. Discipulo, a freshman from Redondo, tied for fourth in the 30-player field.
 Canyons, led by medalist Kristen Grimes’ 75, won with a 306, edging Glendale by two shots. SBCC was third at 330. Glendale (21-3) holds a two-game lead over Canyons (19-5) in the WSC with three matches to play. Santa Barbara is tied for third at 10-14.
 “Canyons and Bakersfield played really well and we played OK,“ said coach Chuck Melendez. “It was nice to have Kristin in the 70s and the other five in the 80s. We’re still improving.”
 SBCC plays in WSC No. 7 on Monday at Twin Oaks GC in San Marcos (northern San Diego County), the site of the Southern Cal Regional on Nov. 7-8.

 Bullemer, Discipulo shoot 80 & 81

  Nicole Bullemer recorded an 80 on Monday in WSC women’s golf tourney No. 5 and freshman Kristin Discipulo shot 81 as SBCC placed fourth at Tierra Rejada GC in Simi Valley.
 
Canyons and Glendale tied for first at 310, followed by Bakersfield (329), SBCC (337) and Citrus (472). Canyons won the tiebreaker, based on a better fifth-player score. Nicole DeFrancisco of Canyons was the medalist at 73.
 Glendale tops the WSC standings at 18-2. SBCC is fourth at 8-12.
 “We had little room for error and this wasn’t the kind of performance we needed (in their bid for a Regional playoff berth),” said coach Chuck Melendez. “We missed a lot of short putts.
 “We have two of the best teams in the state in our conference and it’s by far the toughest conference in California.”
 SBCC plays in WSC No. 6 on Monday at Brookside GC in Pasadena.

Bullemer is ninth in North-South Invite
 
Vaqueros finish eighth in 14-team field

 SBCC sophomore Nicole Bullemer shot 78 for the second straight day on Monday and placed ninth in the North-South Invitational women’s golf tournament, hosted by SBCC at Morro Bay GC.
 
Bullemer, a former Dos Pueblos High star, totaled 156. Teammate Kristin Discipulo was 16th at 160 with rounds of 81 and 79. Kristin Grimes of Canyons was the medalist in the 81-player field at 147 (69-78).
 Canyons edged Palomar by two shots, 621-623. Glendale was third at 634 and SBCC shot 662 to place eighth out of 14 teams.
 “It was a little disappointing because we played so well in our last conference tournament,” said Vaquero coach Chuck Melendez. “We couldn’t find our ‘A game.’ Nicole did a lot of good things out there and so did Kristin.
 “We need to work on our consistency.”

   True fires 75 for medalist honors
Bullemer shoots 77; Vaqueros are 2nd at WSC No. 4

  SBCC enjoyed a breakthrough on Wednesday with a 1-2 finish at the fourth WSC women’s golf tournament.
 
Haley True, a freshman from Santa Barbara High, fired a 3-over-par 75 at Diamond Bar GC to take medalist honors. Teammate Nicole Bullemer was second with a 77.
 The Vaqueros finished in a season-best second place with 319 strokes, just three behind Glendale.
 “It was a great day and I hope this is a turning point for us,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “It was a long day because this course always plays slow. We did a great job of keeping our focus.
 “We’re starting to gain confidence and we know we can play with any team in our conference.”

Vaqueros fourth in Bakersfield
 Discipulo ties season low with 78

 Kristin Discipulo tied her season-best with a 78 on Monday and SBCC finished fourth in WSC No. 3 at RiverLakes Ranch in Bakersfield.
 
Nicole Bullemer turned in an 81, Kurumi Ando had a season-low 83 and Emily Wisma shot 84 for the Vaqueros.
 Glendale won the five-team women’s golf event with 303 strokes and Canyons was second at 318. SBCC totaled 326. Glendale (11-1) holds a one-game lead over Canyons (10-2) in the season standings. Santa Barbara is fourth at 4-8.
 Kristin Grimes of Canyons was the medalist at 1-over 73.
 “We were within striking distance, just a few strokes away,“ said coach Chuck Melendez. “Then we let a few go at the end.”

 Freshman Kristin Discipulo shot 79 on Monday in WSC No. 2 and SBCC took third in a tightly bunched women’s golf field at the Santa Barbara Golf Club
 
Nicole Bullemer had 81 and Haley True shot 82 for the Vaqueros, who totaled 326 to finish five strokes behind the winner, Canyons. Glendale was second at 325 and the top four teams were separated by just eight shots
 Canyons and Glendale are first in the WSC standings at 7-1, followed by SBCC and Bakersfield at 3-5. Malea Miller of Bakersfield was the medalist at 72
 “The door was open to do something and we didn’t get it done,“ said Vaquero coach Chuck Melendez. “We had a couple of big holes that hurt us on the back nine.
 “We’re very close to breaking through in a conference that’s extremely strong.”

Wisma records season-low 75
Vaqueros take fifth in Desert Classic

  Sophomore Emily Wisma fired a season-best 3-over-par 75 on Saturday as SBCC took fifth place in the Desert Classic women’s golf tournament at Indian Canyons Resort in Palm Springs.
 
Palomar won the 11-team, two-day event with 600 strokes, seven better than Glendale. Santa Barbara shot 318 in the final round to finish in fifth place with 638 strokes.
 Freshman Kristin Discipulo turned in her second straight 78 and led the Vaqueros at 156. Wisma (84-75) and Nicole Bullemer (80-79) both shot 159.
 Malea Miller (66-72) of Bakersfield was the medalist at 138.
 “Good things are happening, we’ve just been a little inconsistent,“ said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez.

Vaqueros in fifth at Desert Classic
True, Discipulo shoot 78 at Indian Canyons

  Haley True and Kristin Discipulo fired a pair of 78s on Friday, leading SBCC to fifth place after one round of the Desert Classic at Indian Canyons Resort in Palm Springs. The freshmen duo are tied for 13th in the 11-team field of 65 players.
 
Nicole Bullemer turned in an 80 for the Vaqueros, who shot 320. Palomar leads the 11-team field at 299, followed by Glendale (301) and Bakersfield (307).
  Malea Miller of Bakersfield was the medalist at 6-under 66.
  “I was happy to see Haley and Kristin play so well and shoot in the 70s,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “I want them to realize they’re capable of doing that all the time.”

 SBCC placed fifth in the season-opening South Coast Classic in Ventura.
 Vaquero sophomore Nicole Bullemer shot 81 for a two-day total of 157. She was 10th in the 60-player field that featured many of the top performers in Southern California. The Vaqueros shot 336 in the final round at Olivas Park GC.
 Palomar turned in a 301 to capture the 10-team tourney by 13 shots with a 607 total. Glendale was second at 620, followed by Canyons (637), Irvine Valley (640) and SBCC (648). Taylor Crandall of Palomar was the medalist at 148 (75-73).
 The first Western State Conference meet was also held on Monday and Glendale edged Canyons for first, 315-318. Bullemer topped SBCC at 81 and Kristin Discipulo shot 83 for the Vaqueros, who placed fourth at 336.
 Malea Miller of Bakersfield was the medalist at 76.

   Vaqueros look sharp in debut
Bullemer, Wisma shoot 76 at South Coast Classic

 SBCC opened the women’s golf season in style on Sunday, shooting its best score in three years with a 312 that left the Vaqueros in third place after the first round of the South Coast Classic in Ventura.
 Nicole Bullemer and Emily Wisma, a former Buena High standout, are tied for fifth after firing 5-over 76s at Buenaventura GC while Kurumi Ando and Haley True each carded 80 for SBCC.
 Glendale leads the 36-hole tourney at 305, followed by Palomar (306), Santa Barbara (312) and Canyons (319). There are 10 teams in the tourney, including most of the top squads in Southern California.
 Tammy Spiratchaya of Glendale was the medalist at 72.
 “This is a real good start for us,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “It’s our best score in a while. We were pretty fired up.”
 The final round will be played Monday morning at Olivas Park GC, along with WSC Meet No. 1.
