Meet Some Students

Here are a few words from our students...

Neftali Aguilar
"I am a first generation college student at SBCC and it is essential for my success to be a part of the Transfer Achievement Program, not only for its resources in four year institutions but for the friendly, positive and encouraging atmosphere as well.  T.A.P. is one of the many premier resources available on campus, they possess a motivated staff that is concerned with our goals and college success. It could easily be said that without their support I would not be as persistent as to accomplishing my goals here at SBCC."

Janeth Ruvalcaba
"The Transfer Achievement Program is the best program I have been a part of at SBCC. T.A.P not only offers information about transferring to a four year university, they also motivate students to accomplish their goals. As a Latina and a 1st generation college student, every time I walk into T.A.P. I feel a sense of empowerment and I leave with the confidence that I need to succeed in college. T.A.P. has the best staff and counselors on campus and because of them I have made it this far. To me, T.A.P. is more that just a transfer program, it is my safe zone in school. "

Luis Garfias
"T.A.P. has been an essential program during the years I have been part of SBCC. I have to be thankful that the program has opened many doors for my education. More than anything, T.A.P comes with well prepared professionals that are strongly committed to the members'  success and help them with their personal development. I believe T.A.P. is a program that embraces the dreams of students who lack support in their education and help them take the next step to become great elements for the country. One aspect that differentiates T.A.P. from other programs is that they help minorities to make their way through college. The mentoring  in T.A.P. makes SBCC evolve."
