  • Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship
The goal of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students wishing to study abroad and to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad as well as the countries and regions where they go. Specifically, the Gilman Program offers scholarships for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in education abroad. If you are eligible for financial aid, you are encouraged to apply for the Benjamin A. Gilman scholarship, which provides awards of up to $5,000. You may find more information on the Gilman Scholarship website.
  • Fund for Education Abroad. The Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) was established in 2010 and intends to broaden access to study abroad for underrepresented groups of students. For eligibility criteria and instructions how to apply, please visit the Fund for Education Abroad website.
  • The SBCC Study Abroad Scholarships. SBCC offers a limited number of scholarships for qualified study abroad program participants. To access the scholarship application, please visit the SBCC Financial Aid website and complete the online application. Most of the study abroad scholarships are need-based, although some merit-based scholarships are also available. The study abroad scholarship awards usually vary from $500 to $3,000. It is important to note that the Study Abroad scholarship application deadlines are different from the SBCC Foundation scholarships.
