Kailey Snyder was named Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table after two outstanding pitching performances.
The freshman right-hander from St. Joseph High tossed a no-hitter with seven strikeouts in a 12-0 five-inning win at L.A. Pierce on Tuesday, then came back two days later to fan 13 in a five-inning, one-hit relief effort at Hancock. In the two games, she gave up no runs on one hit in 10 innings with 20 strikeouts and no walks.
Snyder has a 1.65 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 64 innings. She's batting .414 in Western State Conference play.
The Vaqueros (23-14, 9-7 WSC) have won three straight and five of their last six. They'll play their final regular-season games on Tuesday in a 1 p.m. home doubleheader against Cuesta.
