Personal counseling is available to all Santa Barbara City College students through the Student Health Services and Wellness Program. Short-term individual counseling, education and prevention programs and community referrals are available through his program.

We are committed to promoting mental health to support academic and personal success.

Our counseling staff is composed of licensed counselors, including a bilingual, Spanish-speaking counselor, and supervised interns who are sensitive to your needs as a student.

If you are experiencing a psychological crisis, or need to talk with someone after scheduled Health Services hours, you can call the 24 Hour Community Crisis Helpline: Dial 211 from a land line or 1-800-400-1572 from a cell phone.

Individual Counseling

Usually, you meet with an individual counselor from one to six times to clarify and resolve issues of importance to you. Sometimes students need more counseling time, and an appropriate referral to community resources will be made.

Group Counseling

The Group Process offers students the opportunity to share with and learn from other students. Support group activities are confidential. Your counselor may suggest group counseling as a follow-up to individual counseling.
