While Santa Barbara City College does not provide on-campus housing for students, we offer a variety of services to assist students in their housing search. Our Student Activities Office maintains a Roommate Listing Board and rental lists for students interested in locating a roommate, apartment, or private residence hall accommodations.
There are several factors to consider when students decide where they want to live--whether they are better-suited to living with roommates or alone, how close they would like to be to campus, and whether they need access to public transportation.
Santa Barbara offers a rich variety of safe and attractive neighborhoods—from the peaceful residential seaside neighborhood of the Mesa, where campus is located, to Santa Barbara’s lively downtown, which is within walking distance to restaurants, cafes, bookstores, parks, museums, and cultural activities.
We suggest that students start the search for housing options several months before their expected move-in date. You’re encouraged to review our Housing website and then contact us with any questions or concerns.
