ATI TEAS Information

Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

The TEAS exam is required as part of the application process. You must take the TEAS and have results (minimum score 62%) submitted as part of a completed application.  We will accept only official results, submitted to SBCC directly from ATI.  The current version is ATI TEAS.  TEAS V will be accepted through May 31, 2018; beginning June 1, 2018 only ATI TEAS will be accepted.

If multiple ATI TEAS tests have been taken in the past year (365 days), the first score from that time period is the only score that can be accepted. IF a student does not score a minimum overall score of 62%, they must show evidence of having completed a remediation plan in order to retest within that same year.

The ATI TEAS (current version) is offered at SBCC free of charge to applicants on a first come, first served basis.  The dates will be posted on this site twice per year.  You should register early to secure a testing date. Once all spots are filled, you will be responsible for taking the TEAS exam at another testing center and at your own expense.  If seats become available, it will be noted on this site. TEAS scores are factored into the applicant's overall points for the selection process.

SBCC TEAS testing dates:

December 1, 2017 - all of the seats are filled on this date

December 15, 2017 - all of the seats are filled on this date

January 5, 2018 - all of the seats are filled on this date

Testing begins at 9:00 a.m. in room A182 at SBCC.

To sign up for a TEAS test date, please send an email to Lorraine Michalak michalak@sbcc.edu

To find another testing site, go to the ATI website:  www.atitesting.com or call 1-800-667-7531.  To search for a testing location, you will need to create an account on the ATI website.

It is advisable to study for the TEAS; study materials are available for purchase from the ATI website www.atitesting.com.

For DSPS testing accommodation, please make sure to have your DSPS paperwork submitted at least two weeks prior to your test date to: michalak@sbcc.edu

LVN to RN (ADN) applicants:  Applications for the LVN to RN program are accepted during the January 15 - February 15 application cycle only for the following fall program entry.

Note:
The TEAS test is offered free of charge as a courtesy to students who are applying to SBCC's ADN program.

One test only may be taken at SBCC free of charge; students who choose to retest to possibly raise their score must find another testing site and incur the cost themselves.  To find another testing site, go to the ATI website:  www.atitesting.com or call 1-800-667-7531.  To search for a testing location, you will need to create an account on the ATI website.

Students who score lower than 62% overall score on their first TEAS attempt are advised to contact Sheri Shields skshields@pipeline.sbcc.edu, the ADN program director, for remediation assistance prior to re-taking the exam.
