Sisterson, Hart are top coaches in West

They led men to State Final Four
John Sisterson has been named West Region Men's Soccer Coach of the Year by the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America. He just completed his fifth season as coach
of the SBCC men and his seventh as the women's coach.
Paul Hart was selected as the West Region Assistant Coach of the Year. Sisterson
and Hart are finalists for their respective National Coach of the Year honors.
SBCC captured its third WSC men's title in four years with a 12-1-1 record. The Vaqueros
won three playoff games to reach the State Final Four for the first time in 13 years.
They lost to Hartnell 3-0 in Sacramento and finished with an 18-2-4 record.
Sisterson and Hart, who both grew up in England, also coached the Vaquero women's
team to a 16-3 mark. They led the men and women to WSC titles this year -- the first
time that's ever been achieved in soccer by the same school. Sisterson was the WSC
Coach of the Year in both men's and women's soccer.
The men were ranked No. 3 in Southern Cal and No. 7 in the nation in the final NSCAA
Community College poll.
"I'm humbled by this because there's a lot of very good coaches out there," said
Sisterson. "I'm very proud of the players and assistant coaches, they've all done
a great job. This is as much their award as it is mine."
Sisterson and Hart will receive their awards on Jan. 11-15, 2012 at the NSCAA National
Convention in Kansas City.
