The SBCC
Honors Program offers a selection of the most popular
general education courses students need to take in order to deepen
their knowledge of the world and prepare for transfer to a four-year
college or university.
Honors classes are limited to just 25 students, allowing for individual
attention from the professor as well as the opportunity to connect
with other dedicated students. Most Honors Program instructors
plan field trips related to their curriculum, and Honors Program
students are encouraged to join the Honors Fellowship, a student
group that provides opportunities for leadership, community service,
and socializing.
There are also many scholarships available for Honors Program
students. Students may earn an Honors Certificate of Completion
in one of two tracks, Social Sciences & Humanities or Sciences/Mathematics.
Honors Program students may take advantage of special transfer
agreements with many four-year institutions such as UCLA, USC,
UCSB, Pomona College, and Pepperdine University.
