has many resources to help ensure your personal and educational success. Please familiarize
yourself with the information provided by the links on the left. We hope this information
can serve to prevent emergency situations and help you quickly recover, should one
occur.
Alcohol and Other Drugs: Are they affecting you or someone you know? Take a self-assessment to measure your relationship with alcohol. Take a family assessment and see how someone else's alcohol use may be affecting you.
Escort Service:Security escorts are available to students, staff, and faculty day or night. Call
extension 2269 or 2400 from any campus phone or (805) 730-4200 from a cell phone to
ask for an escort. Also see Night Shuttles.
Emergency? Call Campus Security, extension 2400 or dial 911 (direct police/fire emergency line).
Emergency Phones: in the event of emergency, call extension 2400 from one of the campus emergency phones.
These phones, housed in easily identifiable call stations, are located near the Main
(East) campus entrance kiosk, what Playa Stadium Box Office (lower and upper levels),
Student Services Building, Campus Center, Administration Building, west end of the
Campus Bridge, West campus parking structure (1st and 3rd levels), and the Garvin
Theatre.
Health Services available to SBCC students include: first aid, illness assessment, limited medical
diagnosis and treatment, and low-cost medical care referral.
Health and Accident Insurance: Did you know that SBCC has a policy to cover all students for accidental injuries
that occur in class or college related activities? Accidents must be reported to the Student Health Services & Wellness Program Office (SS-170) within 72 hours.

Lost and Found is located in the Office of Student Life located in the Campus Center Building, room CC-217. Phone: 805.965.0581 ext. 2262.
Night shuttles: Two night shuttles offer rides to students, staff, and faculty between
5:45 .m. and 10:15 p.m. on both East and West Campus. In addition to carrying drivers
and passengers to their cars, the shuttles increase the security presence on campus
and allow officers to be in more places, more quickly, and more often to help create
a safer environment for students and employees. Shuttle stops are designated by red
and white signs along the shuttle routes. Students and employees can wait at these
stops or flag down the shuttle as it goes by. On East Campus, a 4-person shuttle runs
every 20 minutes from Friendship Plaza outside the Campus Center to the Humanities
Building to Pershing Park. On West Campus, an 8-person shuttle runs every 20 minutes
from the Campus Bookstore to the West Campus Fountain to Lot 3 and into Lot 2-C.
Personal Counseling: Free and confidential personal counseling is available through the Health and Wellness
Center to help you deal with a variety of personal issues.

If you are experiencing a psychological crisis, or need to talk with someone after
scheduled Health Services hours, you can call the 24 Hour Community Crisis Helpline: Dial 211 from a land line or 1-800-400-1572 from a cell phone.
