4 Vaqueros named SCFA Scholar Athletes

Shipley is honored on academic team
Four SBCC sophomores have been named to the 2010 Southern California Football Association Scholar-Athlete team.
Linebacker Sam Shipley (San Marcos High), running back Sione Puailoa (Sandpoint, Idaho) and defensive backs Oliver Reynoldson
(Cate School) and Franz Fisher (Hawaii Prep) have been named to the squad. Shipley, a 6-2 sophomore who made 102 tackles,
is an All-American Pacific Conference player who accepted a scholarship to the University of Maine.
Requirements for the Scholar-Athlete team are:
1. A student-athlete must have played two seasons or until forced out by season-ending injury.
2. Successful completion of a minimum 36 units -- 27 of which must be in academic (non-PE or sport activity) courses.
3. Achievement of a minimum 3.0 (B) grade-point average.
