Book Grants and Loans
Books Grants, Scholarships and Loans Administered by Financial Aid Office - SS210
These are giving out starting the first day of classes of each semester by visiting the Financial Aid Office in Student Services 210. All books must be purchased at the SBCC Bookstore under these programs.
Qualifications for Emergency Book Loans:
- Student must have an unanticipated financial emergency (Advisors or Director will assess student’s situation)
- Student must be enrolled full time (12 units or more)
- Student has not received, or will not receive financial aid within 2 weeks
- Student must have the ability to repay the loan within 30 days
- Student must not currently owe SBCC any money in arrears
- Student cannot have received an emergency loan or grant before
- Student must not be receiving an EOPS Book Grant
- Maximum Loan Amount: $250

- Students must have at least a 2.0 GPA from units earned at SBCC.
- Student must be enrolled in six (6) or more units
- Student must have unmet financial need
- Student must not be receiving an EOPS Book Grant
- Student must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Maximum Grant Amount: $250
