What We Do

Welcome to EOPS/CARE

Welcome to the EOPS/CARE PROGRAM at Santa Barbara City College.  EOPS (Extended Opportunity Programs and Services) is a state-funded, comprehensive support system for qualified low-income, educationally disadvantaged students who are enrolled full-time (12 or more units). The goal of the program is to help eligible students meet their educational objectives, whether they seek occupational certificates, associate degrees, or transfer to four-year institutions.

The CARE PROGRAM (Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education) at Santa Barbara city College provides opportunities for eligible low-income single parents to obtain the skills and education necessary to move from poverty to self-sufficiency.

ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible for EOPS/CARE, you must: be a California resident; be enrolled as a full-time student (12 units or more per term), have fewer than 70 units of degree applicable college credits; qualify to receive a Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGW), and be educationally disadvantaged.  To determine if you're eligible you may stop by our office during the hours listed below and one of our Student Program Advisors will meet with you.
