About the Writing Center Tutor position

Writing Center Tutors are skilled writers who understand and value composition as a diverse process and who are also enthusiastic about collaborative learning and student empowerment. Our tutors value the rewards of contributing to a diverse community, and they work one-on-one with students in all stages of the writing process and in course work across the disciplines. Our tutors also support the daily operations of the Writing Center and bring their own cultural wealth and community perspectives to learners from a rich variety of backgrounds.

The position includes training in effective practices and continued professional development in line with the college’s mission, vision, and values. Experience in tutoring, writing, or Writing Center work is a plus. The hourly wage begins at  $18.52/hr.
