Task Force
The Task Force on Involvement of Continuing Education Students in Participatory Governance was created in December 2010 for the purpose of:
-
Reviewing and discussing the concepts of participatory governance for California Community College Students.
-
Considering how the application of these concepts, which have been historically utilized at SBCC by students in the credit program through an Associated Student Government but have been addressed in a very general and less formal manner in the non-credit programs, may be applied at a minimum, to each of the continuing education program areas of emphasis supported by the State and to the community service, tuition-based programs of the SBCC Continuing Education Division.
-
Researching best practices.
-
Developing and evaluating options by which continuing education student participation in college governance may be encouraged.
-
Assessing the level of interest in continuing education student participation in college governance.
-
Presenting the work of the Task Force through a written report that will include recommendations for consideration by the Board of Trustees.
