Steps to Enrollment for ESL Students
Steps for all new ESL students enrolling in ESL classes:
- Take the assessment placement test
- Attend orientation
- Register in an ESL class
ASSESSMENT
The assessment test helps us place you in the right English classes. This helps you succeed in school.
Assessment practice worksheets are available at both of the Student Services Offices located in the Wake Center and the Schott Center, in the office of the Assessment Coordinator office, located in room 29 at the Wake Center and also in the ESL Department office, room 12 in the Wake Center.
ORIENTATION
At the orientation you will:
- Receive your placement results.
- Learn how to read the schedule of classes, how to plan your class schedule and how to register for classes.
- Learn about important dates and deadlines.
- Learn about college student support services
TESTS AND ORIENTATION DATES:
Assessments and orientations are offered different days, times and places in Santa Barbara, Goleta and Carpinteria. Please
call (805) 898-8150 or visit one of the Student Services offices to obtain detailed information.
