Jamie is a Counselor and Work Experience instructor for the Career Center. She earned
her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at CSU Fullerton and her Master’s in Counseling
at Chapman University. She discovered her love for working with students in higher
education while interning as a Graduate Student Intern at the Cal State Fullerton
Career Center. She now loves helping SBCC students explore their options to help
them navigate their career and educational goals.
Much of Jamie’s free time is spent chasing around her toddler son and exploring
Santa Barbara with her family.

What was your first job?
Cashier at a Mexican food restaurant when I turned 15.
What was one of your favorite jobs?
I’ve always loved jobs that have allowed me to be with kids: nanny, soccer coach,
special education aid. Kids have a great way of reminding me to not take myself too
What is your dream job?
That’s a good question! One that involves good food, travel and my family.
What job would you be horrible at?
Actor, singer or performer.
What did you want to be when you were little?
A soccer player
What is the best advice you received?
Say yes to job opportunities even if they aren’t your dream job. New opportunities
arise from unexpected places
