This heading does not contain all currently approved Board policies relating to faculty at SBCC. The full body of currently approved policies relating to faculty is undergoing revision. Format, classification and numbering will change. Existing policies are also being evaluated for separation by content into policy and procedure, and all are being assessed for legal accuracy. Policies and procedures will be posted here as they are revised.
For information about existing older policies on topics not posted here, please scroll
down to the end of this Chapter. You may contact Jodie Crawford, Human Resources

This section contains an older college document referred to as "Policies for Faculty and Educational Administrators of the Santa Barbara Community College District" that contains both policy level and procedural level material that has been Board approved from past years. This material is often identified as the "Red Policy Binder."
It has been separated into multiple and very general topical areas for ease of access. Please note that sections of this document may be out of date with respect to legal requirements and to current district policy and procedure.
Many sections have been replaced with current, recently reviewed separately posted policies and procedures in this same web location. (The recently reviewed policies and procedures can be distinguished by their new format and separation into policy as distinguished from procedure.) The older documents are necessary to complete the full range of district policies and procedures currently in effect.
Please contact the Academic Senate Office or Human Resources with questions.

Chapter 5: Student Affairs
The following are current, Board approved policies relating to students at SBCC. They have been renumbered (the former initial numeral "3" has been replaced with "5") in order to avoid duplication of numbering with other District policies. You will also note the change in format to the style that will be used for all District policies going forward.
These documents contain a combination of policy language and procedural details that will be assessed and separated as we institute our systematic review of all college policies.
These are posted now without content revision because they need to be accessible to students and college personnel.
