Twin Cups - MWSU Clay Guild - National Ceramic Exhibition
The Missouri Western State University Clay Guild is sponsoring a National Ceramic Exhibition titled Twin Cups. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older residing in the U.S.  Submitted artworks may be either functional or sculptural representations of a pair of cups, mugs, or drinking vessels, etc.  A $30.00 jury fee entitles each artist to submit a maximum of three entries (each entry consisting of a set of two).  Artworks must have been completed within the last two years.
 
Juror:  Mike Stumbras
Mike Stumbras grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where he became interested in Ceramic Art. Stumbras studied Ceramics at St Olaf College, where he received his BFA and BS in Biology. He received his MFA in Ceramics from Louisiana State University. Stumbras has completed residencies across the country and is currently a full time visiting professor of ceramics at the College of William and Mary.
 
Awards:  Awards will be selected at the sole discretion of the juror.

Off the Table! Clay for the Wall
The Missouri Western State University Clay Guild is sponsoring a National Ceramic Exhibition titled Off the Table! Clay for the Wall. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older residing in the U.S.  Artworks must have been completed within the last two years. Works may be either functional or sculptural forms designed to hang on the wall. All entries must be complete with a hanging device capable of securely supporting the work on the wall for the duration of the exhibition. It is preferred that the hanging device not be visible when the piece is displayed.  The $30.00 jury fee entitles each artist to submit a maximum of three entries.
 
Juror:  Novie Trump
Novie Trump is an Arizona based sculptor and installation artist working in ceramic, mixed media and sound. Formally trained in classical archaeology at the University of North Carolina, her work has been selected for juried and invitational exhibitions in the US and Europe and has been featured in numerous publications. Winner of the Fairfax Strauss Fellowship, she has been awarded numerous grants and commissions for public art works, most notably at the National Institutes of Health in Washington, DC. In 2013, Novie Trump was selected as a Fulbright Candidate by the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars.
 
Formerly the Executive Director of Lee Arts Center in Arlington, VA, Novie Trump currently curates exhibitions and juries for arts organizations throughout the US. Trump has served on the boards of several arts organizations, most recently as the Chair of the Distinguished Artist Series on the James Renwick Alliance Board, a non-profit support organization for the Smithsonian Renwick Museum. Trump is also an educator who teaches workshops in ceramics and professional development nationally.
 
Novie Trump is the founder and director of Flux Studios, a contemporary arts space formerly of Washington, DC and currently based in Jerome, AZ.

Internships involve assisting the Executive Director with planning and
carrying out events, graphics work on announcements and fliers, contact
with members and potential new members via website and email updates,
etc. Ms. Guidry’s hours are 9-1 Monday thru Thursday and can work with
whatever hours a student needs. One of the benefits is meeting and
interacting with the members of the organization.

The formal mission of The Arts Fund is to create, fund and administer
programs and projects that foster the arts for the people of Santa Barbara
County; to act as a catalyst which maximizes the effectiveness of arts
resources; and to nurture collaborative relationships with other arts
organizations.
Interns will gain experience in arts administration, art gallery
management, and nonprofit administration. Specific projects can be
tailored to meet the student’s interests in many areas including, but not
limited to marketing, community relations, educational outreach, events
management, fund raising, grant writing and development).
